Homeplace on Green River

The Homeplace on Green River, a 227-acre farm, has been a working farm for more than 200 years! It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as Kentucky’s Outdoor Classroom. Homeplace offers educational programs to students, scout troops, and other youth groups.

It’s also home to several lively community festivals and events. Homeplace is a popular event venue rented for weddings, family reunions, etc. You can also enjoy over 7 miles of nature trails that wind their way around this beautiful 200-acre farm. This beautifully landscaped farm makes a beautiful backdrop for photos!


The Tebbs Bend Green River Nature Trail system has over 7 miles of nature trails used for hiking. There are two trailheads to the trail system. One is located on the Homeplace on Green River Farm, the other trailhead is next to the Toll Gate House on the Tebbs Bend Road.

The Homeplace on Green River is adjacent to the Tebbs Bend Battlefield and the Tebbs Bend-Green River Nature Area.

Trails are open daily from dawn to dusk.

Homeplace on Green River hosts festivals and events throughout the year.

The Fall Heritage Festival is a great event that takes place every September at the Homeplace. There’s music, arts & crafts, animals, kid events, and more!

The Plow Day Spring Festival is also an annual event held in April.

They also host several other events throughout the year. Stay tuned on their Facebook page for new upcoming events.

Field Trips

Homeplace on Green River has been designated as Kentucky’s Outdoor Classroom and welcomes the use of the facilities by schools, scouts, etc. Students who come for field trips get to experience a range of different activities and learning opportunities, and explore nature and make discoveries for themselves!

Rental Venue

The Homeplace on Green River has been a very popular wedding destination since 2012 when they began offering the farm as a wedding venue. It’s now a special event venue for all types of events including family reunions, community plays or performances, memorials, club meetings, proms, fundraisers, and even company picnics.

The buildings can accommodate up to 200 guests and outdoor events 

Homeplace Rental Packages

There are several rental spaces to choose from or you can rent the entire campus. Rental packages are available hourly or daily.
